Creating Moodle Lessons for Child Development: First Efforts
Submission Type
Event
Abstract
Last year I created an initial set of Moodle lessons in an effort to engage students outside of the classroom on the following: 1. Careful observation of children 2. Evaluation of children for age, abilities to familiarize students with the vast differences between infants and toddlers, for example 3. Engagement on several controversial issues such as health care, intelligence measurement, gender stereotypes, infant cognition. I will share some of the lessons, in order to demonstrate the value and limitations of this method of independent student work.
