Abstract

Excerpt from a memorial lecture for the late John Forsythe, Treasurer of Bryn Mawr College for 24 years, given by the noted architectural historian George Thomas, who this year is teaching several courses in the College's interdepartmental cities program, including one this semester on Philadelphia architecture from the 19th century Greek Revival period to today's nationally recognized "Philadelphia School."
