The Bryn Mawr College Graduate Group Symposium is a biennial event sponsored by the Graduate Group in Archaeology, Classics, and History of Art. This weekend-long symposium is organized and led entirely by a committee of graduate students with the goal of facilitating interdisciplinary scholarship between graduate students in Archaeology, Classics, History of Art, and all related fields. Planned and organized entirely by students, the biennial symposia are one of the Graduate Group's most significant shared enterprises. This year's theme is "Consumption: From Cannibalism to Capitalism" and will feature a keynote lecture by Professor Egbert Bakker (Yale University) entitled "Conspicuous Consumption: Gastronomy in Classical Athens".
