    Description

    Transcriptions of Civil War letters from Richard Stillwell, Captain, 132nd Regiment Pennsylvania volunteers, Company K, to his wife Margaret Snyder Stillwell and to Joseph Scranton. Also a letter from Jacob Floyd, First Lieutenant, Company K; and two letters from Margaret Snyder Stillwell to Richard Stillwell.

    The letters date from August 22, 1862 to March 30, 1863.

    Richard Stillwell survived the Battle of Antietam and was later shot in the neck at the Battle of Fredericksburg.

    The letters, and other documents relating to Richard Stillwell's experience in the Civil War, are held by the Lackawanna Historical Society, Scranton, PA.
