Abstract
When students build the digital tools they use together in-class, disciplinary learning outcomes work in powerful tandem with those in information fluency and computational thinking. These assignments ask students to think both as makers and as users, as individuals and as members of the group, as curators and as scholars. Grounded in examples and tool recommendations, this presentation will focus on creating and using data visualizations like timelines, maps, and tools for distant reading.
