20-minute Presentation

Abstract

What kinds of structures, programming, and support are best suited to empower faculty to integrate blended learning pedagogies in liberal arts teaching and learning? What kinds of spaces, opportunities, and incentives help frame most effectively meaningful faculty development experiences with blended learning approaches? And how do we design faculty development experiences that are as participatory and open as the blended learning pedagogies we aim to promote? In this presentation, we share experiences and results from our work leading faculty development for critical digital pedagogy during the last two years at Muhlenberg College. We demonstrate an approach to this work that models some of the values afforded within blended learning: constructing strong pedagogical communities in which faculty, library and instructional technology staff, and administrators are empowered to participate as co-learners. We will share this work in an interactive framework, inviting participants to contribute their questions, ideas, and experiences via Twitter and in brief "think | pair | share" moments during our 20 minute presentation.
